Manuscript Format Guide

Follow these clear guidelines for submitting to The Propagation Journal. All manuscripts must adhere to this format for smooth peer review.[page:1]

Title Page

Title

Capitalize only first letter of first word and proper nouns. Example: "Phosphorus forms and distribution in the Zhejiang coastal sediment in the East China Sea".[page:1]

Author Names & Affiliations

Use full names (given name before surname), capitalize only first letters. Mark corresponding author with *. Use superscripts (a, b, c) for affiliations.[page:1]

Subsections

Number consecutively: 1., 1.1., 1.2., etc. Abstract excluded. Capitalize only first word and proper nouns in titles.[page:2]

Examples: "1. Introduction", "2.1. Data collection".[page:2]

Text Formatting

  • • Single-column, double-spaced
  • • 12-point Times Roman font
  • • Line numbers on left
  • • Word limit: 10,000 (papers), 3,000 (notes)

Each figure/table = 160 word-equivalents. Submit in Microsoft Word.[page:2]

Figures

  • 600dpi, .tif or .jpg
  • Width <8/16cm, height <24cm
  • Times New Roman 9pt (no bold/italics)
  • First word capitalized only
  • Bold axes, black medium lines
  • Numbers >1000: use commas (1,630,000)
  • Units in (): "Flow discharge (m³/s)"
  • Rotate y-axis 90° CCW
  • No background
  • Color: 300dpi, $200 USD each[page:2]

Subfigures: 2-side-by-side (<8cm each); 4 in 2x2 grid.[page:2]

Tables

  • Times New Roman 9pt (no bold/italics)
  • First word capitalized only
  • Numbers >1000: commas (1,630,000)[page:3]

Citations & References

In-Text Citations

  • 1 author: Smith (2002)
  • 2 authors: Smith & Jones (2003)
  • 3+: Smith et al. (2002)
  • Groups: (APA [first], 2000) then (APA, 2000)
  • Multiple: (Jones, 2003, 2007; Thomas, 2003)[page:3]

Reference List

Title: "References". Double-spaced, alphabetical, hanging indent.[page:3]
